As The Shade Room previously reported, the former president addressed Kamala's biracial identity, claiming she only recently began identifying as Black.
He explained, “I didn't know she was black until she accidentally turned black a few years ago. Now she wants to be known as black.” Donald claimed that Kamala had previously only identified herself as “of Indian descent.”
He asked, “Well, I don't know. Is she Indian or is she black? A journalist on the panel tried to correct Trump by explaining that Kamala “has always identified as a black woman and she attended a historically black college.”

In addition, Kamala's team defended her. Communications Director Michael Tyler released the statement and wrote: “The hostility that Donald Trump showed on stage today [as] the same hostility he has shown throughout his life…”
In addition, the statement pointed out that “…he is trying to gain power and impose his harmful 'Project 2025' agenda on the American people.” Kamala’s campaign added: “Trump card has personally attacked and insulted black journalists in the same way he has throughout his presidency – and in the process, abandoned black families…”
