Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill says he pushed Greg Lewis “to present the boys vitality”.

For a few moments on Sunday, it appeared that the Chiefs’ offer for a second straight Super Bowl championship would be canceled.

All-world quarterback Patrick Mahomes had just left the game with an apparent concussion. His backup, Chad Henne, led the offensive in his place, but stayed in the red zone and only scored three points. Shortly afterwards, CBS cameras caught the receiver Tyreek Hill, who pushed positional coach Greg Lewis on the sidelines:

Except that the shock wasn’t nearly as bad as the people who had seen it live thought. Even in the clip above, it’s evident that Lewis is smiling through his mask.

What exactly was the deal when Hill bumped into Lewis? Hill gave a sneak peek into the situation on Wednesday before the matchup of the AFC championship game in Kansas City against the Bills (who they beat 26-17 in Week 6):

“It’s just me and my personality. I’m just cheered and happy to be in the NFL. “

So there you have it. Hill wasn’t a hothead or a diva – he was just trying to get his team going. It may not have worked for offense (the field goal was the team’s final score), but it did work for defense, leaving Baker Mayfield and the Browns just one more touchdown to give the game the final score of 22-17 to give.
