And although the two have kept a low profile since the news broke, Jennifer recently returned to social media, sharing an old photo from a fan on her Instagram Stories on August 23, in which she can be seen in a fluffy pink bathrobe taking a selfie in front of a Christmas tree.
As for Ben, the day J.Lo filed for divorce, the Argo star flew from New Haven, Connecticut, back to Los Angeles, where he and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner raised her eldest daughter Violet18, is coming to Yale University for her first year. The couple is also parents of Seraphina15 and Samuel12.
In February, Ben hinted that he and Jennifer had differences of opinion about their marriage. He spoke about how they fundamentally disagreed when it came to putting their romance out in public, especially after their early 2000s romance rekindled.
“When we got back together, I said, 'Listen, a social media relationship is one of the things I don't want,'” he explained in Jen's documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told. “And then I realized that's not a fair request. It's like marrying a ship's captain and saying, 'Well, I don't like the water.' We're just two people with different approaches trying to compromise.”
