The former head coach of Carolina Panthers and Washington commander, Ron Rivera, returns to the University of California, his Alma Mater, to help the football program.

The role of Rivera would be primarily administrative and he would be involved in the supervision of the program and its great requirements, including budget, coaching employees and the experience of the athlete, said a source of Adam Rittenberg from ESPN.
Belichick was hired in December as head coach of North Carolina after winning eight Super Bowls, including six as head coach of New England Patriots.
The 63 -year -old Rivera is a member of the Cal Athletics Hall of Fame and had 337 duels for the school as a linebacker. He was an all-American in 1983 when he set up a school record with 26.5 duels for losses, including 13 bags.

Rivera, who was released by the commanders last year, interviewed both the New York Jets and Chicago Bears head coach last month.
The 63 -year -old Rivera spent his entire coaching career in the NFL from 1997 when he was a coach of defensive quality for Chicago Bears. Before he was hired as head coach of Panthers in 2011, he worked as a defensive coordinator for the bears and San Diego Chargers.
He has a record of 102-103-2 as an NFL head coach and led the Panthers to the Super Bowl in the 2015 season.
Before he became a coach, he played nine seasons as a line backer for the Chicago Bears, who selected him in the second round of the 1984 draft. He was a member of the Super Bowl Champion Squad of the Bears 1985.
