Not many people know that

Miliband has also announced that he will spend 200 million pounds for taxpayers for solar modules for schools and hospitals:
Hundreds of schools, NHS Trusts and Communities in Great Britain will benefit from new solar energy and renewable systems on the roof to save money for their energy bills, thanks to an investment of a total of £ 200 million of the British government and the great British energy.
In England, around 80 million pounds of financial resources will support around 200 schools and 100 million pounds for almost 200 NHS locations that cover a third of the NHS trust in order to install solar modules on the roof, which could supply classrooms and operations with electricity, whereby the potential for the sale of remaining energy can be sold to the power grid. The first panels are expected in schools and hospitals by the end of summer 2025, which saves schools for the next academic year.
The first investment by Great British Energy was able to invest millions in the frontline services that aim at disadvantaged areas, with lifelong savings for schools and the NHS of up to £ 400 million over 30 years.
It is estimated that a typical school could save up to 25,000 GBP per year on average, while the average NHS location could save up to 45,000 GBP per year for their annual energy bill if they had installed solar modules with complementary technologies such as batteries.

Miliband brags the fact that the school budgets are increased due to this saving. However, this is a hand loop – it only uses tax money in GBE to pay some of the school costs instead of assigning them to the educational department.
The obvious question is: If solar collectors are so inexpensive, why don't the schools themselves pay from their own budgets?
The answer is just as obvious – they are not inexpensive, as Miliband's own press release admits. Note this sentence:
“Lifespan savings for schools and NHS of up to £ 400 million over 30 years.”
But solar modules do not last thirty years or the like. If you are lucky, you may take until you become liability.
And over 15 years you will only be able to repay the original investment, regardless of whether the financial costs cover. Desnz savings are also based on the reduction of the energy bills, but nowhere do they seem to have taken into account the maintenance costs that go into them. No business would waste so much money in this way.
Overall, it doesn't look like the taxpayer is at all seeing a return for her money.
And everything for what? The solar collectors in China are inevitably produced with a massive CO2 footprint from the coal power, which is used for production.
When GBE was set up for the first time, we were assured that it would soon make a profit. How can you do this if you convey £ 200 million without obligation that it is paid back?
