“Cease Oil” … stops – wadts?

By Robert Bradley Jr.

“No doubt that the perpetrator feels virtuous. But the anti-Co2-industrialization movement is in war with society, reality and itself. This fringe is asked to question the wrong cause with study and reflection … Real environmental protection please!”

The Guardian reported yesterday:

Simply stop oil to hang up the HI-vis after three years of climate. The final meeting in April will mark the end of the street protests, although the campaign continues to continue dishes and prisons.

Dozens of demonstrators were detained. Last summer, five followers received several years in prison for the planning of roadblock protests against the M25. Even after their conditions were reduced in the appeal procedure this month, they will ever remain the longest for non -violent civil disobedience.

In the meantime, new groups have emerged that have sprayed the earlier obligations of some climate activities to be responsible for their actions, and instead behave hungry for target organizations that they consider responsible for the contribution to air conditioning.

The main course correction was due to ineffectiveness, idiocy and prison sentence. But not to the culprits. Climate activist Verel Rodrigues [1] registered on social media yesterday:

After three years of the disorder, deficiency and deep courage, only oil ends their protests. And frankly … it somehow feels emotionally.

Only stop the oil – you have changed the political conversation in Great Britain and all over the world. What started in 2022 with courageous, disruptive action, slow marches and orange color quickly became one of the best known and most influential climate campaigns in modern history …

Of course it wasn't easy. The repression was brutal. Laws have been armed. Demonstrators detained for years. But JSO held the line. And this despite – this courage – has changed the overton window. Three years ago, fringe was to talk about new projects for new fossil fuels. Now it's politics.

And the British economy is in a decline and the citizens are burdened with high energy costs – for no effect on the global climate (the country is responsible for 1 percent of global CO2 emissions) … ..

Continued:

…. Yes, just stop the oil that feels emotionally. But it also feels like a truck is over. As you said: the campaign does not die – it develops. In the dishes, in the prisons and maybe even in something new, brave and even more global. Disorder works. Resistance is important. And movements can win

Or lose. Just stick to the fact that oil would not stop if it wins. Exactly the opposite.

Little doubt that the perpetrator feels virtuous. But the anti-Co2 anthrial movement is in war with society, reality and itself. This fringe is asked to question the wrong cause with study and reflection and to transform its anger (without violation of property rights or unknown public) into wind and solar industrialization on land and in the waters. Real environmental protection please!

[1] He describes himself as follows:

I am a vertical – a climate activist, environmental campaigns and engineer who is driven by a simple truth: we cannot solve the climate crisis with business as usual. My mission is to challenge the status quo, inspire actions and enable individuals to use their skills and knowledge in the fight for a livable planet.

Since I joined the climate protection movement in 2019, I have worked with groups such as Extinction Rebellion and only stopped oil, listed local initiatives, created campaigns with a high impact and refined media strategies to strengthen the urgency of climate work.
