“Why wind and solar make the networks more susceptible to power failures
Renewable energies such as wind and solar have become a larger part of the overall power supply, but the network was not designed for dealing with it. WSJ asks a mechanical engineer to fix this. “
Wall Street Journal, June 3, 2025
The WSJ heading seems to reveal wind and solar, but only seems to be an action for more wind and solar. By adding synchronous capacitors and back-up batteries … and more transmission lines.Wow!
Note a well -presented, albeit misleading, possibly fundamentally fraudulent … A guideline view of a mechanical engineer without mentioning A/C magnet and electrical fields, performance factor, capacitive and inductive impedance tension and flow, control based on zero sequence curents and harmful harmony. And continues the terrible comparison of the average demand for name signs of sun and wind.
It misses the specific intermittent times and the deterioration with wind and solar.
There is no explanation that “make-up” energy on the Internet offers immediate demand in order to continue the frequency within 2 cycles and 2-month coal reserves on site or several dedicated natural gas feed or years of core fuel reserves available for years.
It misses the actual cost comparison between the costs and reserves of the “solution” and previous networks.
Basically an advertisement for “net zero”.
Continuation of a total waste of another – eG. Care customers, taxpayers. And less money for more important things.
Sad that the WSJ Editorial and Feate staff fight the employees against the administration and for our earlier, safe, reliable, reliable and cost -effective electrical service.
