Bear commerce rumors: “Determined” Chicago prepared to supply Russell Wilson or Deshaun Watson a “boatload” of picks

It might be time Chicago weighed down.

The Bear Front Office, believed to be one of the teams Russell Wilson would accept a trade for, is currently facing “fear and despair,” according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora. The organization is preparing to offer a “boatload of picks” to Wilson or Texan’s QB Deshaun Watson.

The package is expected to include picks that extend into 2023 and would likely include at least three first-round players and more, the report said.

Quoting league sources when speaking of the Bears front office, La Canfora said Chicago is stepping into Defcon 1 on the QB search

“There is real panic in this building,” said La Canfora of an NFL manager. “Don’t underestimate how desperate you are.”

With head coach Matt Nagy and GM Ryan Pace unable to find a franchise passerby – and Mitchell Trubisky a free agent – the organization has exhausted all options to find a quarterback of the future. The team was reportedly hot after Colt’s QB Carson Wentz before Indianapolis and Philadelphia struck a deal.

CBS Sports also reports that the Bears were pondering Ben Roethlisberger if he hadn’t restructured his contract with Pittsburgh.

Given Watson’s age and recent production, there’s a good chance his price tag could be a little higher than Wilson’s, though Houston doesn’t seem to want to let him go.

Wilson’s trade price was reportedly set at three picks on the first round, and Seattle has answered calls to the veteran QB amid drama with the team. Sounds like the bears are making sure the phone keeps ringing.
