We offer our deepest condolences to Ashley Gerren Taylor’s family and friends. Many of you may remember her as an actress on the BET hit reality series, Baldwin Hills. The show aired on the network from 2007 to 2009.
The unfortunate news of her death was first reported by Gossip of the City. Ashley Gerren Taylor, professionally referred to as Gerren Taylor, died of natural causes in her sleep over the weekend at the age of 30. She was struggling with lupus disease and was on dialysis at the time of her death. However, she had various health problems and lupus was not listed as an official cause.
Those who have seen Gerren on Baldwin Hills may remember that she was also a model, an entrepreneur, and over the years had become the mother of her 7-year-old daughter. Her castmates gathered in her memory last night.
We last met Gerren and her castmates in 2019, 10 years after their show officially aired. And when we talked to Gerren about what she’s been up to since the show last aired, she said to us:
“I enjoy mommy hood these days. I have a beautiful little girl named Miyoko Amor who is 5 years old. She’s been my whole life and takes up all of my time lol. Now that she’s a little older, I venture out more. I work on my online children’s boutique ‘Miyoko’s Closet’ and sell the cutest children’s clothes and accessories. I’m starting my management company called TaylorMade Models. I also work exclusively with a few Hollywood clubs, PH Day Club & Ballet Hollywood. I recently went back to college to hone my business skills and improve my craft. I am very busy and blessed with the opportunities God always offers me. “
Ray Cunningham, who appeared on BET’s hit show College Hill, shared a video of him and Gerren mourning their deaths.
Gerren’s family will post a link for fans to support their family, including their young daughter, and we will update you with the information later today. Please hold up Ashley’s family in prayer.
