Anthony Joshua calls Tyson Fury a “fraud” after the referee dominated in Deontay Wilder’s favor

Anthony Joshua has called Tyson Fury a “fraud” in response to arbitration mandated by the WBC and the ring heavyweight champion will face Deontay Wilder for a third time before September 15.

Former federal judge Daniel Weinstein’s verdict came a day after Fury announced on Twitter that his all-British fight to unite the heavyweight division with Joshua was “100 percent complete” on August 14 in Saudi Arabia. That fight, which would have given the division its first undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis in 2000, now threatens to be delayed if Fury Wilder fails to get Wilder to agree to a postponement.

Joshua (24-1, 22 KOs) called Fury on Twitter and said he used his name for clout. He added that he would like to face a fighter “who can do his business right”.

. @Tyson_Fury the world sees you now for the scam you are.

You failed boxing!

You lied to the fans and carried them on. I used my name for punch, not a fight.

Bring me a championship fighter who can do his business properly.

MORE: Bob Arum now wants Fury vs. Wilder 3

Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs) is the most significant obstacle between a Joshua Fury union game. The former WBC champion initiated injunction on his and Fury’s two-fight contract after they were unable to plan a trilogy fight after their rematch on February 22, 2020. Wilder immediately issued his rematch clause after Fury scored the seventh round TKO win, but they couldn’t find out any details during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Weinstein denied Wilder financial compensation in his decision and allowed the two to agree to an extension. That keeps the possibility of a fight between Joshua and Fury alive in August (the British boxers agreed to a two-fight deal in March that has not yet been signed) Anger in an Instagram story on Tuesday claimed Wilder asked for $ 20 million to keep him and Joshua fighting.

“What a joke bronze bomber turned out to be. I asked for 20 million to go through #joker. Looks like I’m going to have to crack his head again!” Anger wrote.

However, Fury’s American promoter Bob Arum said they are sticking to Weinstein’s arbitration and would be willing to postpone Joshua-Fury until November or December.

“We’re not paying Wilder to step aside,” Arum told ESPN on Monday. “Better to get rid of him and go about our business.”

Another potential problem that is slowing Joshua-Fury down is a request reported by the WBO to promoter Eddie Hearn explaining why the organization shouldn’t order a fight between Joshua and Alexander Usyk, the top contender for Joshua’s title .
