Atlanta Hawks security guard Trae Young questioned a game played by Memphis Grizzlies security guard Grayson Allen from Saturday’s game. Apparently he felt like Allen was trying to trip him on purpose.
Young came down from a screen when Allen ran after him, her feet tangled up. Young stumbled a little on the piece.
“Damn … tell me what you see !! Smh,” Young tweeted on Sunday. “This has to stop. #Ifyoudontknownowyouknow”
Allen has a reputation for tripping opponents and goes back to his time at Duke. In 2017, coach Mike Krzyzewski disciplined Allen because of repeated stumbling blocks.
Young responded sarcastically to Allen on Twitter: “Damn it, it must have really, really hurt. I’m sorry. I hope you’re fine.”
Allen and Young have a little story. Young received a technical foul for pushing Allen in a preseason game that year. Before that, Young and Allen fought as rookies in a summer league game in 2018.
The visiting Hawks defeated the Grizzlies 122-112 on Saturday, with Young scoring 36 points with nine assists.
