Trump says ICE will take over airport security next week

Trump warned over the weekend that he reportedly plans to send ICE agents to US airports as early as Monday, March 23, unless Democrats in Congress agree to immediately fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In a Truth Social post, he wrote that these agents would do this “Make security like no one has ever seen before.” Trump also suggested they would focus on arresting undocumented immigrants – specifically pointing to people from Somalia in his reasoning.

Normally, airport security and passenger screening are the responsibility of the TSA. However, due to the partial shutdown of DHS funding, TSA officers went unpaid, leading to staffing shortages and long lines at airports across the country. With talks among lawmakers still stalled, Trump’s threat to deploy ICE is not just a political posturing. It also taps into the general frustration over travel chaos and the ongoing funding stalemate. Critics argue that ICE agents are not trained for TSA duties, raising concerns about security.

Officials clarify ICE’s role amid airport chaos

Just when you thought the chaos at the airport couldn’t get any more confusing, officials had to step in and clarify the situation. After Trump’s Truth Social post about sending ICE to “help“TSA at airports, senior Homeland Security officials have said that… wait, not quite. Now everyone is trying to figure out what ICE is actually going to do and who is trained to do what.”

Over the weekend, White House border czar Tom Homan told CNN that ICE officers will not man X-ray machines like TSA agents or directly handle passenger security scans. Because they are simply not trained for it. Instead, Homan explained that the idea is to have ICE relieve TSA employees of certain duties so that those agents can be reassigned to other jobs and help.Move these lines” faster. He emphasized that the plan is still being worked out with acting ICE Director Todd Lyons and acting TSA Administrator Ha Nguyen McNeill. They also expressed hope to finalize the details this week.

In the video, Latto raps in what appears to be a child’s room. She sits down and begins working on a painting, then seemingly begins decorating the room. She then finally gives fans a look at her growing baby bump as a man gently places his hands on her stomach. The mystery man doesn’t show his face, but fans were quick to suggest who it could be. From there, Latto goes back to her Big Mama era and raps in her lyrics. “Car seat, there’s a child on the way!”

Labrinth comes to his platform with a message about the industry

In 2019, British singer and songwriter Labrinth signed with Columbia Records following the success of his soundtrack “Euphoria.” The project included popular titles such as “All For Us.” Zendaya and “Forever.” Over the years, the composer gained widespread recognition, winning an Emmy and even receiving a Grammy nomination.

In 2025, the HBO series announced that Labrinth would return to compose alongside Hans Zimmer. At that time the composer shared his enthusiasm and wrote: “Another chapter in the Euphoria universe! It’s great to join Hans, one of my heroes in film music, and bring some new magic to this new season. Love X.”

However, now it looks like things have changed in 2026. On Thursday, March 12, Labrinth took to Instagram to drop a few things ahead of the highly anticipated release of Euphoria season 3. The artist wrote: “I’m done with this industry. F*** COLOMBIA. DOUBLE F*** EUPHORIA. I’m outside. THANK YOU and goodnight X.”

Here is the latest update on Euphoria Season 3.

Back in January, Deadline revealed an update on the third season of “Euphoria.” HBO said the third season will return in April 2026. Created by Sam Levinson, the series first premiered in 2019 and quickly became one of HBO’s most talked-about dramas.

Filming for the third season began on February 10, 2025 in Los Angeles and ended in November 2025. Cast below Zendaya, Hunter Shepherd, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordiand others will reprise their roles. Season three will also feature a time jump that takes the characters beyond their high school years.

When discussing why Euphoria might end with season three, HBO exec Francesca Orsi told Deadline: “We talked about it. I don’t believe anything is over until it’s over, but there has been talk of this being the end. I think you’ll be very pleased with this season and the way we wrap up each character’s narrative.”

Verified according to information from ABC NewsAuthorities were made aware that as early as February 2026, Iran had reportedly expressed interest in a surprise drone strike that could target locations in California if the US launched attacks against the country. The potential threat was reportedly identified by the United States Coast Guard and passed on to law enforcement as a precautionary warning. Officials say there is currently no additional information regarding the timing, method or specific objectives associated with the alleged plan.

Newsom says the state is taking the threat seriously

Newsom confirmed that California officials are taking the reports seriously and said the California Office of Emergency Services is already sharing real-time information with local law enforcement agencies across the state. He added that officials have been actively monitoring safety concerns related to drones for some time and have formed special working groups to address potential risks. In a video released Wednesday, Gov. Gavin Newsom said:

“As far as drone strikes are concerned, we were aware of this information,” he revealed. “We worked together through the (SOC) that we formed right after the war started – the State Operations Center. We worked with the Office of Emergency Services, but also worked on the ground to make sure we conveyed all the information we received.”

The warning comes amid ongoing tensions following US military operations against Iran during Donald Trump’s administration. Iran has since reportedly carried out drone strikes in parts of the Middle East. Meanwhile, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Los Angeles office declined to comment on the situation and the White House has not yet responded to requests for clarification.
