The “Guardians of the Galaxy” star and children's author faced backlash after it was revealed they planned to demolish an architecturally historic Los Angeles home they purchased less than a year ago, according to permit reports obtained by Robb Report emerges.
The home, named Zimmerman House, was purchased off-market by Chris, 44, and Katherine, 34, in early 2023 for $12.5 million. Shortly afterwards the couple, who have children together Lyla Maria3, and Eloise Christina23 months – submitted a proposal to demolish the property and begin construction of a new home.
And the new construction is reportedly a complete makeover of the original structure, which was originally a single-story mid-century building. Finally, the documents revealed that the house was designed by an LA architect Ken Ungar— best known for its modern farmhouse style — and features two floors with a backyard swimming pool and pool house, according to Robb Report.
