A court, a court in Washington, DC, the climate scientist at the University of Pennsylvania Michael Mann refused to postpone his necessary payment of hundreds of thousands of dollars to national review on Thursday.
The Supreme Court of the District of Columbia decided in January that Mann owes a national review of around 530,000 US dollars to cover the legal costs of the outlet, after he had spent more than a decade in defamation against the organization, and man then applied for a stay to postpone the payments. On Thursday, Mann's court denied, which means that he probably has to span cash into an outlet, which he once described in e -mails as a “threat to our children”. Mann initially sued in 2012 when the Canadian conservative Mark Steyn Mann and his famous climate model “Hockey Stick” made the National Review website on the website. Rich Lowry, editor of a National Review, then wrote a follow-up post-post-backing-backing Steyn's, and man decided to sue the outlet for the defamation together with Steyn and Rand Simberg, a former addition to the competitive Enterprise Institute. While Mann's complaint against Steyn and Simberg was initially priority, the judge of the Supreme Court found in January that Mann would have to pay the 531,000 US dollars within 30 days, the editors of National Review announced at that time.
In a submission of the submission of the national review of the compensation, man argued that the step was a “common and unjustified application of a strong organization”, which intends to intimidate it and silence it.
In particular, judge Albert Irving wrote in March that Mann and his lawyers had presented misleading information to the jury while the defamation was in court. In particular, men and his representation mislead the jury of how much grant financing he missed a key element of his defamation due to the actions of the accused.
