SEATTLE – Veteran Defensive Tackle Damon “Snacks” Harrison tweeted Sunday that it was “time to move on” from the Seahawks.

NFL Network reported that Harrison asked for his release after learning he would be inactive for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. The Seahawks plan to grant Harrison his release, the report said.

A Twitter user replied to the NFL network’s tweet and wrote, “Don’t go,” to tag Harrison, who replied on his grounds that he wanted out.

“Didn’t mean to, but it’s time for it,” Harrison tweeted. “I came here to help and I did and now it’s time to move on. I came back to play this year and that’s all I want. The team is healthy again and playing really good.” [It’s] to break up my time. Still all love and respect for the hawks! “

Nobody gets me wrong lol the team is investing in its future the way it should. Winning and preparing for the future at the same time is rare. If you know me, you know that I find meaning in EVERYONE. I should be here for the time I was here for many reasons.

The Seahawks added Harrison, 32, to their practice group on October 7th after he decided to play in 2020. He made his Seattle debut on November 15th against the Rams. The 6-foot-5,350-pound player had to get himself back into soccer shape and then wait for an opening in Seattle’s defensive tackle rotation that he got when Bryan Mone injured his ankle.

Harrison, a first-team all-pro in 2016, has been credited with nine tackles and one forced fumble in six games with Seattle. According to the Pro Football Reference, he averaged 23 defensive snaps per game while playing behind starters Jarran Reed and Poona Ford.

The Seahawks activated Mone from the injured reserve on Saturday. Harrison wished Mone and several other teammates the best of luck against the Rams on Twitter. The Seahawks would win the NFC West for the first time since 2016.

Harrison’s contract includes a base salary of $ 1.05 million, according to the roster management system. That amount, spread over six games, is roughly the equivalent of $ 370,588.
