Falcons icon Julio Jones proclaims the retirement after 13 seasons

      Marc Raimondi's first year about the Falcons was in 2024, but it wasn't his first year at ESPN. He joined the company in 2019 and was a top fight reporter. He also reported on professional wrestling and wrote the book “Say hello to the evil: How Pro Wrestling New World Order changed America”, which was published by Simon & Schuster in 2025. Raimondi also worked for New York Post and Newsday, from 2009, via Highschool and College Sports as well as the NFL, NFL, MLB and NHL.

The former recipient of Atlanta Falcons, Julio Jones, one of the best players in the Franchise story, announced his retirement of the NFL on Friday.

The 36-year-old Jones, who made the announcement in the app squad, was a seven-time per bowl selection and two-time all-project team all-Pro during his 13 NFL season. He led the NFL to the reception of yards (2015 and 2018) and is the all -time leader of the falcons in reception (848) and the reception of yards (12,896).

His 60 touchdowns in second place in the history of Falcons behind Roddy White (63).

“I am making this announcement because of the city of Atlanta today,” said Jones. “Thank you man, I appreciate you all. It is nothing but love. I do it on the 404 day – it was a damn good trip. … that was for the city, man, I appreciate you all.”

Jones last played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023 and caught 11 games for 74 yards and 4 touchdowns in 11 games.

He had three games with more than 250 yards in his career – leader in the history of the NFL. His five consecutive seasons of 1,400 reception meters or more are also an NFL record.

Jones was occupied by the falcons in the draft of Alabama in 2011. He started 13 games as a rookie and collected six seasons with more than 1,000 receiving yards and at least six touchdown-catch-catchers Matt Ryan as the best quarterback-wide recipient combination in franchise history.

He had 19 catches, 334 who received yards and received three touchdowns in three post -season when the Falcons reached the Super Bowl in the 2016 season.

Jones caught a total of 914 passes for 13,703 yards and 66 touchdowns. He played for Tennessee and Tampa Bay in 2011 in 2022.
