May 26, 2025, 2:32 p.m.

Indianapolis-the second-placed by Indianapolis 500, Marcus Ericsson, was punished together with Andretti Global Team colleague Kyle Kirkwood on Monday on the back of the 33-car field, after it was found that their cars had not approved modifications in the post-sample inspection that could have helped their aerodynamic efficiency.

Ericsson finished second in Álex Palou on Sunday when he couldn't make a passport in the final rounds. It is now attributed to a 31st place, while Kirkwood, the sixth occupied, was banished to the 32nd century.

Indycar said that the changes made by Andretti Global to the energy management coverage provided by Dallara, the company that provides the chassis for the series was provided. The rule book says that these parts must be used as delivered.

Ericsson and Kirkwood had to expire their prize money and championship points from their original finish and instead receive the money and the points for their punished finish. Each car was also finished with a fine of $ 100,000, and the competitive managers for the teams were suspended for the upcoming race on the streets of Detroit.

The No. 90 car from Callum Iloott did not pass the technical review of the post -key after it had not met the minimum end panel height and the location specification. Prema Racing received the same punishments as Andretti Global, which means that Ilott is more likely to be attributed to the last place in “the greatest spectacle in racing”.

Indycar's inspection process was examined a week before the race when the team Penske had twice winners Josef Newgarden and wants to have powered modifications on the rear shock absorbing damping agent.

Newgarden and power could not compete in the second qualification round and instead had to start in the last row of the 11-series network. Newgarden had a problem with the fuel pump and took 25th place, and power took 19th place, although both will increase three places after the penalties on Andretti Global and Prema Racing.
