On New Years Day, bookmaker William Hill US put a six-figure bet on the Kansas City Chiefs to win the Super Bowl, but the defending champions aren’t the sportsbook’s biggest problem in the playoffs.
Worst scenario for multiple bookmakers is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winning the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs are the consensus Super Bowl favorite, listed by William Hill at +190 on Caesars Sportsbook. The Green Bay Packers follow at +450, followed by the Buffalo Bills (+700) and the New Orleans Saints (+750). The buccaneers are +1,000.

“Buccaneers who win the Super Bowl would be 100% the worst scenario for us,” said Nick Bogdanovich, commercial director of William Hill US, in a post on the bookmaker’s website. “We’re in pretty good shape with most of the teams, but the Bucs are a big loser.”
The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook and BetMGM also reported significant liabilities to the Buccaneers, many of which were incurred before the season, when Tampa Bay added Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.
Lately there has also been interest in the privateers. William Hill said he staked $ 40,000 on the Buccaneers to win the Super Bowl 12-1 on Saturday. As of Wednesday morning, it will be the second largest Super Bowl futures bet placed at the bookmaker after just a $ 115,000 bet on the Chiefs placed in Nevada on Friday.

The Chiefs attracted most of the betting and money in the William Hill Super Bowl futures market. The Packers have the second most popular Super Bowl bets, followed by the Buccaneers, Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers.
At William Hill, there was bettor interest in some of the Super Bowl long shots, including a $ 10,000 bet on the Indianapolis Colts at 45-1 and a $ 2,000 bet on Washington at 125-1.
“I received a call from a customer [on Tuesday]Jason Scott, BetMGM commercial director, told ESPN, “But there are a lot of tire kickers in this business.” Whether he actually pays is another story. He asked for $ 60,000 from 50-1 so that it would win $ 3 million. “
