And the Prince of Wales couldn't help but rave about the 42-year-old's resilience in an unimaginably difficult year.
“I'm so proud of my wife, I'm proud of my father for handling the things they did,” he told reporters during his visit to Cape Town, South Africa, on November 7, according to the BBC. “But from a personal family perspective, yes, it was brutal.”
And despite all the ups and downs, he previously emphasized that she was on the mend.
“She’s doing really well,” William, 42, told Sky News on November 6. “She has been great all year and I know she will be really looking forward to tonight being a success.”
