Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann are reportedly dropping divorce proceedings

Apparently Kim Zolciak45, and Kroy BiermanThe 37-year-old have opted to settle their marriage rather than be separated. Newly filed court documents reportedly detail Kim’s request to have her divorce petition dismissed, according to TMZ.

TMZ reports that Kroy has also applied for his release. However, according to his attorney’s comment to Entertainment Tonight, PEOPLE reports that his release is still a work in progress but is imminent.

“Yes, the parties are dismissing the divorce suit and are reconciling,” attorney Marlys Berstrom told ET.

The apparent reconciliation comes about two months after the couple split on April 30 — the date Zolciak provided in her petition. However, both officially filed for divorce in May. Kim’s divorce documents at the time claimed their marriage had “cracked irretrievably, with no hope of reconciliation.”

Both had reportedly filed for sole custody of their four minor children. Kroy also filed for sole custody.

Then, days before they filed for dismissal, Kim and Kroy gathered their youngest children for a church outing. The footage shows the couple alongside their four biological children, Kroy Jagger (KJ), Kash Kade, Kaia Rose and Kane Ren.

For comparison, about two years after Zolciak and Kroy’s wedding in November 2011, the former NFL linebacker adopted Kim’s daughters, Brielle and Ariana. After learning about the divorce filings, 21-year-old Ariana posted a selfie on her Instagram Story with the caption, “God is so good.”

According to PEOPLE, the Fulton County Superior Court granted Kim an “unaffected parole and counterclaim.” However, she reserves the right to resubmit at a later date.

“They hit it off and call off the divorce. They’re trying to make it work for the kids,” a source told PEOPLE.

Leading up to their reconciliation, things were looking bleak for the couple. Kroy and Kim’s personal affairs have been in the spotlight — from reported IRS debts totaling over $1 million to libelous allegations against each other.

Zolciak claimed Kroy has a marijuana smoking habit that worries her about her children’s safety. She challenged her then-estranged husband to undergo a five-step hair follicle drug test.

Meanwhile, the former athlete claimed that his wife was subjected to a “compulsion” to gamble and gamble online. He added that her alleged habit caused financial difficulties for the family and affected their ability to mother their children.

Kroy requested that Kim undergo a psychological evaluation to uncover possible “underlying mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, narcissistic personality disorder, bipolar disorder, or ADHD.”

Although she filed for divorce, Kim stated that they continued to live in the same household in Georgia.

As of Friday evening, the couple had not commented on the release on social media.
