The episode released on Wednesday covered various topics. Toward the end of their conversation, the Kelce brothers asked the Los Angeles Lakers star about a post that remains popular among NBA fans online.

In May 2015, a user wrote on The post resurfaced several times, particularly because James continued to play at an All-Star level as he got older.

Jason Kelce mentioned the post to James, which got a big laugh from the four-time NBA champion.

“I saw that [post] “Throughout my 30s,” he said. “And I laughed about it every time.”

James then revealed that the user posted something similar when the four-time MVP turned 40 in December, which made the Kelce brothers cry.

James also clapped back, mentioning that the user would be “really upset” when he turns 50. The user confirmed James' answer to X.

The former Cleveland Cavaliers star applied for a spot on the podcast with a post in October 2023.

@newhightshow Crazy I can't get an invite to your amazing show! Is it because you really are the kings of Northeast Ohio and I say so too? Be honest! 🥴😁😁😁. Seriously, you guys are AWESOME!!

Jason Kelce welcomed him to the show with a powder toss, similar to James' pregame ritual. The brothers then asked James about his football career and whether he had ever seriously considered playing in the NFL. James expressed his interest during the 2011 NBA lockout.

“I didn’t know when we were going to close the deal with the owners and get our league up and running,” he said. “So I actually thought about it at the time. I was still young enough to go out with you. But that was the only time I actually thought about it.”

In front of some of the biggest names in the NFL, James walked back his comments on Christmas Day when he said: “I love the NFL. But Christmas is our day.”

“I saw the damn numbers after the fact. You really kicked our asses,” James said Wednesday. “As far as viewership goes, you all kicked our asses.”

James also talked about his son Bronny, who the Lakers drafted last year. The father-son duo made history in October, becoming the first father-son duo in NBA history to appear in a game together.

He called Bronny “the most relaxed, easy-going, funniest kid in the world.”

Currently in his 22nd NBA season, James is averaging 23.7 points, 8.8 assists and 7.6 rebounds while shooting 50.9% from the field.
