Jane's Addiction canceled a reunion concert prematurely after its frontman Perry Farrell seemed to hit the guitarist David Navarro on stage.
Well, the singer's wife, Etty Lau Farrelloffers what she calls a “firsthand account” of the altercation at the alternative rock band's Sept. 13 performance at Boston's Leader Bank Pavilion, an incident that went viral after fans posted footage on social media.
“There was obviously a lot of tension and animosity between the members,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a video of the confrontation. “The magic that made the band so dynamic. Well, the dynamite was ignited. Perry tackled Dave and body-slammed him to the ground.”
E! News has reached out to representatives for Farrell and Navarro for comment on the onstage incident but has not received a response.
In the video, as the band plays their eleventh song of the night, “Ocean Size,” the singer walks up to the guitarist mid-performance and appears to shout at him. He then appears to slap him on the back before continuing animatedly and then swinging his arm toward Navarro's shoulder.
