Prosecutors are submitting a movement for Tory Lanez to be waived or elevated bail for violating Megan Thee Stallion’s safety order
Roommate, it looks like Tory Lanez is getting some heat after his Rolling Loud gig next to DaBaby. According to TMZ, a source has revealed that prosecutors recently filed a motion to detain the rapper for violating a court order to keep Megan Thee Stallion out of contempt.
Prosecutors claim Tory was within 100 meters of Megan at the festival, in violation of the protection order. Additionally, a source told TMZ that prosecutors believe both Tory and DaBaby tried to rush onto the stage during Megan’s performance.
As you may already know, social media users have heavily criticized DaBaby for bringing out Tory on its set. Since it happened right after Megan’s, fans felt like he was tailing the rapper. DaBaby has also faced the massive aftermath of controversial and misinformed comments he made about the LGBTQ + community and people living with HIV / AIDS.
In response to Tory’s presence at Rolling Loud, prosecutors are attempting to lift or raise his bail. If the bail is revoked, Tory could face jail time pending trial for the ongoing criminal case. A hearing on the disregard motion is scheduled for next Thursday.
As previously reported, Tory is facing assault charges for allegedly shooting Megan in the foot on July 12, 2021. Tory, Megan and their then best friend Kelsey Nicole allegedly left a pool party in Hollywood Hills. Last November, the Canadian rapper pleaded not guilty.
In January, Tory’s attorney filed a motion to change the protection order and allow him to speak publicly about the case. In particular, Tory wanted to talk about gun scraps from the crime scene that allegedly implicate others in the case. However, this request to have the gag order lifted was rejected by the judge in February.
