Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who was recovering from a foot injury during his off-season, has undergone a physical at his training camp, a league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Sunday.
Garoppolo will not be included on the list of physically unfit players and is expected to start the training camp with his team-mates, the Schefter source said.
Garoppolo, who joined the Raiders as a free agent on March 17 on a three-year, $72.75 million contract, signed a waiver in lieu of a physical for his left foot injury sustained December 4 while playing for the San Francisco 49ers.

He underwent surgery after signing with the Raiders and was unable to train with the team on the field at volunteer OTAs despite having been in the building.
Garoppolo’s $11.25 million signing bonus was also converted into a base salary, giving him a total base salary of $22.5 million for 2023. This lends credibility to the notion that Las Vegas could part ways with him if he were unable to pass a physical before the season began.
Coach Josh McDaniels said last month that despite Garoppolo’s injury, he has “no worries” about the team’s quarterback situation.
Brian Hoyer, who has experience with McDaniels’ system from his time with the New England Patriots and is entering his 15th NFL season, signed as a free agent with Las Vegas during the offseason, serving as first-team substitutes. The Raiders also drafted Purdue’s Aidan O’Connell and sophomore Chase Garbers in the fourth round.
