TRENDING RUMORS
– Arsenal have appointed RB Leipzig as a striker Benjamin Sesko their main target following Gabriel Jesus' cruciate ligament injury, both The Sun and The Times report. The 21-year-old has been regularly linked with the Gunners over the last 12 months but decided to sign a new contract with the Bundesliga club last summer. Arsenal are considering whether to make a £70m offer now or opt for a short-term loan deal. As with Gyökeres, a large transfer fee would be required to complete a deal before that window closes, but Mikel Arteta is in desperate need of reinforcements. The Slovenian international has scored 18 goals in all competitions and has scored once in his last seven league games.
– Arsenal is also interested Viktor Gyökeresaccording to the Independent, but Manchester United remains his most likely destination. Gyökeres enjoyed a successful 18-month spell under current United manager Rubem Amorim at Sporting CP and the former Coventry City player is seen as a key addition to the rebuilding job at Old Trafford. Arsenal had raised the possibility of making a move this month to address their own problems in attack. Gyökeres has a release clause below £100m, making him an attractive option. United cannot afford to sign the 26-year-old this month, while Sporting would prefer him to stay until the summer. Arteta's best chance of getting Gyökeres appears to be to land in this window.
