May 14, 2025, 10:02 p.m.

The captain of Tottenham Hotspur, son Heung-Min submitted a complaint to the South Korean police in which he claimed that he had been the victim of an extortion attempt, his agency announced on Thursday after the media reported that a woman threatened him with a wrong pregnancy claim.

“The police are currently investigating so that we will inform you about the results as soon as they are available,” said his agent's son & Football Limited in a statement. “We would like to tell you that son Heung-Min is clearly the victim of this incident.”

The police had arrested a woman in the 20s and a man in the forties and examined allegations that they tried to blackmail money from his son with the fake pregnancy claim, the local media reported on Thursday, citing the police.

The Seoul Gangnam police station did not immediately answer the reports to a request for comments.

Son, 32, is very popular in South Korea, not only because of his success on the field in England Premier League, but also because of his inauguration for the country's national team as captain.
