The shares of vaccine companies fell on Tuesday, after a Senate body voted to lead Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to the management of the Ministry of Health and Human Services.
The committee voted at 10:30 a.m. ET from 2 p.m. to 13 to drive Kennedy in a party line.
ModernThe shares fell by about 2% and stocks of Biontech Almost 2%fell. Shares of Novavax fell by more than 2% GSKThe stock fell slightly. PfizerThe shares fell by more than 1%, even after the company reported results in the fourth quarter that exceeded expectations. Their shares initially fell for larger margins after the Senate Committee coordinated and then achieved some properties.
The 71 -year -old Kennedy is a notorious vacceptic who makes false claims that despite decades of studies that expose this association, they are associated with autism. But Kennedy claimed during the hearings of the Senate last week that he was not “anti-accine”.
Kennedy is also the founder of the non-profit children's health defense, the best-financed anti-access organization in the United States in a state ethics contract last month.
If Kennedy were confirmed by the Senate, he would monitor the federal health authorities that regulate vaccines and other medication. Some experts in health policy have expressed concerns about Kennedy using his new potential platform to spread rhetoric against the avaccine and prevent the Americans from giving recommended shots at a time when the vaccination rates are already falling, especially in children.
During an industry conference in January, Albert Bourla, CEO von Pfizer, said Kennedy's anti -impf-rhetoric in “complete contradiction” with what the company, the supervisory authorities and the medical and scientific community believe.
