Born in Washington DC Will Davis has died at age 35, according to the Associated Press. According to reports, the police do not currently believe there was a crime.
AP's report indicates that police found Vontae dead in his South Florida home on Monday morning (April 1). They were reportedly responding to a medical emergency at the home in the Fort Lauderdale suburb of Davie, Florida.
Although no crime is suspected, police continue to investigate the death of Vontae Davis. The cause of death remains unknown pending a full autopsy report.

As mentioned, Vontae played in the league during his cornerback stints with the Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts. He reportedly played 10 seasons in the NFL – three with Miami and six with the Colts.
The Dolphins released a statement on social media to mark his death “We are heartbroken by the sudden passing of former Dolphins CB Vontae Davis and extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
The owner of the team, Jim Irsay, also sent his condolences via X on Monday. He wrote, “I am extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Vontae Davis. A great guy, teammate, player. My prayers go out to Vontae’s family.”

The Colts also commented on the 35-year-old's death on social media.
“He was an outstanding player in his six seasons with the Horseshoe, but he was an even better teammate, carrying a smile and positive energy every day,” the team said. He will be greatly missed and our prayers go out to his family and loved ones.”

The Washington native signed with the Buffalo Bills in 2018 but left the team at halftime of the second game of the season. After the game, he released a statement announcing his retirement, saying that after multiple injuries and surgeries, “reality hit me fast and hard: I shouldn't be out there anymore.”
A week ago, the former professional athlete published an Instagram post promoting his new children's book inspired by his life in DC and his career path.
