Yankees, Angels spoke concerning the Aaron Choose low season commerce, in accordance with the report

Another angel in the outfield?

While the Yankees still have a few years to worry about Aaron Judge’s future in New York, Yankees Brass reportedly argued over a judge deal with the Angels in the off-season.

New York and the Angels had very tentative discussions about a possible judicial trade last off-season, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney, but the talks were brief and “the easiest of flirtations.”

Olney says the talks could open the door to discuss other potentially available players for a future trade.

The judge is in his 29 year season and will be 31 when his freelance agency eligibility runs around after the 2023 season. When Judge is healthy, he is an elite defender on the right field and one of the standout thugs in the game. The problem, however, is that Judge hasn’t really been healthy since his explosive 2017 rookie season when he mashed 52 home runs with an OPS of 1,049.

Biggest question: what would an Aaron Judge deal look like anyway? The Angels likely have little to offer in return for Judge, and the Yankees would have to fill an outfield seat with either Giancarlo Stanton – whom the team avoids playing in the outfield – or with other “ready” outfield prospects that The Yankees are currently bright.

But imagine this: an outfield with Justin Upton, Mike Trout, and Aaron Judge. Hooooo boy.
