The Anafi Ai Drone is the Google Maps automotive of the skies

The popularity of drones has exploded, but their range often leaves something to be desired. Midrange drones can reach a range of up to 1.5 miles, while high-end consumer drones can reach up to 4.3 miles. Distance was the limit of true freedom – until now. The new Parrot Anafi Ai drone uses 4G connectivity to remove all range restrictions.

You can precisely control the drone from any distance, no line of sight is required and obstacles do not interfere with the connection. Thanks to the embedded secure element, the connection between your phone and your drone is encrypted. This provides comprehensive data protection and reduces the risk of someone hacking and stealing the drone.

The Anafi Ai drone is notable for another reason: It is the first drone in the industry to make its pilot application open source. Parrot offers a software development kit that allows developers to create custom code for the drone. This opens up its flight sensors, obstacle avoidance sensors, and more to customization, which means that the potential of the custom software is only limited by the imagination of the developers.

The Anafi Ai has a 48-megapixel main camera and a 4K 60 frames per second / HDR10-capable camera for detailed aerial photos and video recordings. Designed for photographers, the drone can record amazing videos thanks to the stabilization around its 4K camera. The HDR10 capability means that even high-contrast areas are clearly captured. The camera has a 6x digital zoom; According to Parrot, users can see 1-centimeter details from 75 meters away. The gimbal tilt allows the camera to be adjusted from -90 degrees to 90 degrees along its axis.

Improved artificial intelligence can use photogrammetry to automatically generate flight plans and improve productivity. Professional drone operators can use this function to create flight plans based on a building’s land register. Essentially, the drone can create a 3D map and follow it to better avoid obstacles while flying. You can think of it as similar to those Google Maps cars you might see on the road, but for the sky.

No subscription is required. Any SIM card that can send data will work to control the drone. The Anafi Ai is easy to use, folds up for easy storage, and can be set up and ready to use in just a minute. Perhaps just as important is that it is rainproof. You can fly when it is wet and your photos will still look good even in strong winds. The gimbal ensures sharp photos in cross winds of up to 12.7 meters per second.

The Anafi Ai should appear in the second half of 2021. A price has not yet been named.

According to court documents he filed, Jamie Spears says, “Ms. Montgomery was fully responsible for the daily personal care and medical treatment of Ms. Spears, and Ms. Montgomery made all such decisions. ”In addition, his attorney issued a statement on his behalf.

The explanation read:

“Mr. Spears believes it is important to the integrity of the Conservatory proceedings, and in the best interests of Ms. Spears, that the court investigate the claims [Britney] at the status hearing on June 23, 2021. Either the allegations prove true, in which case corrective action must be taken, or they are proven false, in which case the Conservatory can continue its course. Astronomers spy on a CME throughout totality

There is an old saying that there is “nothing new under the sun,” but that is not true when it comes to the science of solar eclipses.

Not only do astronomers offer a fantastic celestial spectacle, but have often used the brief moments that solar totality offers to explore the sun and its surroundings. To this end, total solar eclipses in the past and still today provided the opportunity to conduct scientific experiments.

For example, the element helium was first identified in the sun’s lightning spectrum in 1868. Sir Arthur Eddington successfully observed that gravity bends light, as seen in the deflection of stars near the edge of the sun during the total solar eclipse of 1919, and successfully tested one of the predictions of Einstein’s general theory of relativity. This attempt was first made in 1914, but stalled with the advent of World War I.

During the total solar eclipse of 1878 over the American West, astronomers also made one final attempt to spy on the interqueckish world volcano. And although the advent of relativistic physics also explained the anomalous precession of Mercury without inducing the existence of the false world of Vulcan, the existence of a hypothetical group of asteroids in close proximity to the Sun called volcanos has not yet been ruled out. NASA actually hired a pair of converted WB-57 bombers to hunt the moon’s shadow during the 2017 solar eclipse with the third goal of searching the near-sun zone for fake volcanos. So far, however, the searches have come out empty-handed.

In addition, we still manage to tease out scientific results from total solar eclipses. A total solar eclipse presents a unique opportunity on several scientific fronts, including: 1). a chance to directly observe the Sun’s illusory and usually invisible outer atmosphere, including the chromosphere and corona; 2). a chance to search the room very close to the sun for previously unknown objects, and 3)). a chance to use the large distorting gravitational well of our host star for experiments.

An elusive phenomenon that occasionally occurs during totality is coronal mass ejections. Until the advent of space-based coronagraphs, starting with Skylab in the early 1970s, total solar eclipses were the only time astronomers could see this poorly understood phenomenon. Even today, solar totality is the only time that we can see the beginnings of a coronal mass ejection near the sun’s edge, as typical coronagraphs on board solar observation missions such as the Solar Heliosphere Observatory (SOHO) tend to cover several solar diameters. Though short, the totality offers a much better adaptation of the sun covering the moon.

One such event was recently observed by astronomer Guillermo Abramson during the total solar eclipse on December 14, 2020. The path of totality for this eclipse included remote areas on the extreme southern tip of South America. Due to the ongoing pandemic and travel restrictions, few eclipse hunters have made their way to stand in the shadow of the moon this time around.

“Observations of the solar corona during eclipses, while rare, are extremely valuable and complement those made with coronagraphs from the ground and from space,” Abramson told Universe Today. “The main reason is that during solar eclipses the corona can be observed up to the edge of the sun, while the masks of the coronagraphs tend to be larger.”

Abramson and his team not only succeeded in capturing the entire anatomy of a CME during its formation, but comparing it with observations from space-based facilities such as GOES, ACE and SOHO also made it possible to measure speed and velocity over the course of the CME. The team also got an additional bonus that was verified by SOHO: the Kreutz Group Sonnenweide Komet 2020 X3 SOHO). Comets have made themselves felt in solar eclipses before; a famous example was the Great Eclipse Comet of 1948. It is strange that by the early 1990s fewer than half a dozen sun knives were known. Now, thanks in large part to SOHO, we have recorded 4,182 such comets, and the number is growing.

Another elusive mystery eclipse hunter working on the solution is what is known as the corona heating problem. What charges the weak solar corona to temperatures millions of degrees hotter than the layers below?

Step inside the Solar Wind Sherpas, a team of astronomers who have tracked eclipses around the world to understand this phenomenon. The Solar Wind Sherpas, based at the Institute of Astronomy in Honolulu, Hawaii, have tracked the corona during eclipses for over a decade or 11 year solar cycle. Their efforts have led to an unexpected result: although sunspot activity fluctuates over the course of the solar cycle, the temperature of the solar corona remains nearly constant, suggesting that anything that heats the corona to tremendous temperatures is independent of the solar cycle.

“The temperature at the sources of the solar wind in the corona is almost constant during the entire solar cycle,” says Shadia Habbal (University of Hawaii) in a recent press release. “This finding is unexpected because coronal structures are driven by changes in the distribution of magnetized plasmas in the corona, which vary so widely during the 11-year solar magnetic cycle.”

This fascinating find was published in the Astrophysical Journal Letters. One suspect of solar heat is so-called nanoflares, and missions like NASA’s Parker Solar Probe and ESA’s Solar Orbiter are currently working hard on this problem.

On average, we experience one or two total solar eclipses somewhere on earth every year, although this year’s offer is shy as totality only roams the earth once across the Antarctic continent on December 4th, 2021. However, the United States is on April 8th, 2024 the threat of eclipse fever again, with a total solar eclipse crossing Mexico, the United States and (get your Learjet ready) the Canadian ocean-going ships …

Midyear MMA Awards – A dominant UFC champion, a scorching prospect and … Jake Paul?

There were dominant performances by the champions, surprises in the title fight and a surprising phenomenon that seems to be gaining momentum. The only thing the MMA world didn’t have in the first half of 2021 was a card in front of a full house in Las Vegas.

That will change on July 10th, when Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier finish their trilogy at UFC 264 in the T-Mobile Arena.

A look back over the past six months reveals some accomplishments – and moments – that deserve recognition. Our 13-person committee chose the best fight, the best fighters, the most spectacular finish, the best view and the biggest surprise.

This is the best fight of the first half of 2021, and not just because it ended in an exciting hiatus that crowned a successor to the great Khabib Nurmagomedov as the UFC lightweight champion. What also makes this the best fight so far this year is that it almost crowned another champion.

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will complete their trilogy on July 10th, and a lightweight title shot in front of a sold-out crowd will be at stake in Las Vegas.

Oliveira was the one who got the belt around her waist after dropping Chandler with a left hook in the first few seconds of the second round. But that was just the surprising end to a twisted story full of twists and turns. Chandler knocked Oliveira down twice in the opening round, and at one point he had him caught in a tight guillotine stranglehold.

At the end of the first five minutes, it seemed that the UFC was on the verge of having a new champion, and 19 seconds into Round 2 it turned out to be – except it was a different guy than the one who was doing the round 1 ended as if the fight was his. A surprising ending. The biggest bets. What more can we ask for?

This is not a case against Amanda Nunes or Valentina Shevchenko in the pound-for-pound conversation. Your résumés are beyond reproach. Both defended the title in 2021 as definitive favorites, and both looked like that on fight night. But if narrative and trajectory weren’t factors, the Fighter of the Year awards would be just P4P snapshots.

Namajunas made history in April when he defeated Zhang Weili to become the first woman to hold multiple UFC titles in a weight class. She was almost a 2-to-1 underdog against the perceived buzz saw, a champion who was undefeated in 20 fights over nearly eight years. That was until Namajuna’s speed, skill, and strength combined with a head kick knockout to reclaim the straw weight throne and turn the deepest women’s division on its head. While other women’s champions struggle to find challengers to challenge, Namajunas’ victory opens a door full of compelling opportunities. Every opponent in the top 3 is a dream of style or plot or both. And namajunas are preferred in each of these pairings.

Namajunas’ decision to win the title shot of Jessica Andrade last year was tied to a theme of salvation. Zhang’s knockout in April could mark the beginning of a longer reign.

Kamaru Usman gives his thoughts on the best world planet weights of all time.

Frankly, Usman stands out in this category by a wide margin. He’s not just winning fights, he’s not just defending his title – he’s cementing his case as an all-time great. In 2021, he overtook Jon Jones as ESPN’s # 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world. He forces a debate about who is the greatest welterweight of all time between him and Georges St-Pierre. He emphatically ends his opposition.

Not only did he post a third round against his former teammate Gilbert Burns on Feb 13, but he also added a highlight role, which on Feb 24 he widened the gap between himself and the rest of the division.

Jiri Prochazka takes advantage of some early openings and appears to injure Dominick Reyes in Round 1.

The twisting elbow that Dominick Reyes ended was really just the icing on the cake of a Prochazka performance brimming with bold flavors.

In the nearly two rounds that the light heavyweight fight lasted, Prochazka showed unorthodox intransigence, delivering punches from unexpected angles and awkward stances and positions. And while absorbing a few blows too, Prochazka mostly displayed paradoxical defensive skills as he was hard to find while at the same time constantly facing Reyes.

When Prochazka pulled Reyes into retreat midway through the second round, he continued to land punches even as he followed his opponent to the cage and then along the fence. After Reyes had only the energy to assert himself, Prochazka gave his attack flow a new spin.

The torso twist that added a quick elbow to the Reyes skull gave Prochazka his 12th consecutive win. And the stunning, memorable finish put the Czech 28-year-old at the top of the £ 205 title contenders.

Ben Askren shares his perspective on the fight against Jake Paul and insists that the fight has not been rigged.

Novel boxing permeating the MMA ecosystem isn’t just the biggest surprise in the MMA world in the past six months, it’s actually one of the most popular things happening in the sport right now. The boxing match between the award-winning YouTube star Jake Paul and UFC veteran Ben Askren, a former Bellator and ONE Championship welterweight champion, was a big draw on April 17th.

A few weeks after defeating Askren, Paul attended UFC 261 in Jacksonville, Florida and was booed with relish by MMA fans saying “F — Jake Paul!” while actually high-level UFC fights were taking place. It was the first ticket to a sold-out crowd since the pandemic began, and the focus during a three-championship battle ticket was on a confrontation between Paul and Daniel Cormier near the stands.

UFC President Dana White got irritated because he was asked so often about the latest callouts from his fighters to Paul, or vice versa. White has said that he will not allow any current fighter to box Jake or his brother Logan Paul.

Jake will next fight former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

Then there was an impressive performance by 46-year-old former longtime UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, who earlier this month defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in Mexico – a former world boxing champion who was 11 years younger than him with 60 professional boxing matches. Prospect is a tricky label. Evloev has 15 professional fights including five in the UFC. But the Russian featherweight is only 27 years old and has not yet developed into a real “contender”. He’ll probably do it soon, though.

Evloev looked very impressive when he scored a unanimous win over fellow campaigner Hakeem Dawodu at UFC 262 in June. Evloev’s wrestling is totally dominant in general. With his oppressive wrestling and grappling style, he will pose a major threat to almost anyone in the featherweight division.

The victory over Dawodu was his second that year. Evloev defeated Nik Lentz by split decision at UFC 257 in January. It was a major win against a seasoned gatekeeper like Lentz, who is also a tough wrestler-gripper.

If there’s one thing Evloev can improve on, it’s ending battles. He has yet to claim a win in the UFC, although he did so regularly as the M-1 bantamweight champion. Perhaps after joining the UFC in 2019, he is still adjusting to the move from bantamweight to featherweight.

In any case, Evloev looked superb and there is clear growth potential for someone in their athletic heyday. That’s a scary proposition for 145 pound fighters in the UFC.

How CRISPR Gene Modifying Will Deal with Illnesses: Intellia Founder Doudna

The gene editing technology CRISPR reached an important milestone last weekend and completed its first systemic drug delivery to the human body.

CRISPR, or clustered, regularly spaced short palindromic repeats, cuts genomes and cuts DNA effectively to treat genetic diseases.

The latest breakthrough, the result of a study between biotech company Regeneron and Boston startup Intellia Therapeutics, treats a rare disease after it has been given as an IV infusion. Previously, other uses of CRISPR technology have been limited to ex vivo therapy, or where cells are removed from the body for genetic manipulation in a laboratory and then returned to the body.

Jennifer Doudna, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2020 for her work on CRISPR gene editing and is the co-founder of Intellia, recently told CNBC about the development of the technology from the publication of her early work to clinical studies showing its effectiveness at treating disease in less than 10 years means “one of the fastest rollouts in my opinion of technology from basic, initial science to actual application.”

“This is mainly because the technology comes at a time when there is a huge demand for genome editing and a lot of knowledge about genomes,” said Doudna at the recent CNBC Global Evolve Summit in mid-June.

As for next, Doudna highlighted several challenges and opportunities that CRISPR has on the horizon.

Deploying CRISPR remains a major challenge

As technology continues to advance, the task of getting the processed molecules in the body to the cells in the areas where they are needed remains a challenge.

“This is a particular issue in clinical medicine where the ability to manipulate brain cells, heart cells or muscle cells has incredible potential, but right now we don’t really have the tools to introduce the editors to those cells,” said Doudna. “We have the editors; we just don’t know how to get them where they need to go.”

Sickle cell anemia was an early focus

Much of the success of CRISPR’s previous applications has been in ex vivo therapy, in which extracted cells are manipulated in a laboratory and then returned to a patient.

Sickle cell anemia, which is genetically inherited and affects approximately 100,000 Americans, according to the CDC, was a particularly good target for the technology because blood stem cells “can be harvested, processed, and then returned to patients,” Doudna said.

Genetic eye diseases were also a focus for CRISPR applications, as Doudna said, “It is certainly easier to get into the eye than other parts of the body.”

The delivery of the processed cells to the liver has also proven to be easier so far. “A liver is an organ that naturally accepts molecules in the body,” she said.

Any advance in eradicating the 100+ liver diseases could have a huge impact on the lives of Americans. According to the American Liver Foundation, at least 30 million people, or one in ten Americans, have liver disease.

Next, let’s focus on the brain, heart, muscles

The next step for innovation around CRISPR will be to move these cells to other parts of the body like the brain, heart and muscles, Doudna said.

“There are already some technologies that make some of this possible, for example with different types of viruses or virus-like particles, and I look forward to the innovations that will come in this regard over the next few years,” she said.

Treatment costs are a problem

But as technology improves and scientists become able to fight disease throughout the body, Doudna said that CRISPR technology needs to be cheaper in order for it to have “widespread effects.”

Treating sickle cell anemia with CRISPR therapy costs about $ 2 million per patient, according to Doudna.

“That is clearly not a price point that makes this available to most of the people who can benefit from it,” she said.

While addressing delivery challenges can also help reduce costs, the medical community needs to figure out how “to scale molecule production so that we can cut costs,” said Doudna.

Applying CRISPR to Agriculture

The advancement of CRISPR technology may have an impact on other industries as well, with agriculture being one of the first to benefit.

Rather than addressing genetic problems through breeding, which can take months to years, or through current methods of genetically modifying crops that have seen a boom over the past few decades but that incorporate biological material from other species, CRISPR technology can address the Genes from plants “without touch” manipulate everything else, “said Doudna.

Life on earth is most diverse at the equator. This pattern of increasing biodiversity as we move through the tropics towards the equator can be seen on land and in the oceans and has been documented for a wide range of animal and plant groups, from mammals and birds to ants to trees.

Although this pattern is so striking today, the distribution of biodiversity across latitudes – the so-called latitude gradient of biodiversity – has not always been this way. Studies looking at the evolution of biodiversity by latitude have shown that for some time periods in the earth’s history, species diversity was indeed highest at latitudes far from the equator.

Modern biodiversity peaks in equatorial regions of lower latitudes, such as the tropical rainforests of the Amazon and Central Africa. This pattern is more likely to be recorded during “ice house” times, when ice sheets are present at both poles at the same time – like today.

Bimodal peaks were recorded during warmer intervals, known as “greenhouse” or “greenhouse” earth states. This means that there were two bands where biodiversity was highest, and these wrapped around the earth in mid-latitudes or regions between 25 ° and 65 ° north and south of the equator.

As a possible “sixth mass extinction” is looming or is already underway, a long-term perspective will be crucial in order to understand how the earth’s biodiversity can also be preserved in the future.

Britney Spears Calls Out Paparazzi for “Embarrassing” Her on Trip

Britney Spears is laying down some ground rules while trying to enjoy her island getaway. 

On Tuesday, June 29, the 39-year-old embattled pop star shared an Instagram message to fans and paparazzi alike in response to interactions she’s apparently had during her current trip to Maui. This follows her appearance in court last week to discuss her ongoing conservatorship. 

Also subject to her ire were photographers who she says have been distorting images of her in ways she finds embarrassing, although Britney did not cite specific examples of this happening.

“So being here in Maui is pretty crazy now,” the “Circus” singer wrote, “the paps know where I am and it’s really not fun !!!! It’s pretty hard going anywhere cause these silly faces keep popping up to take my picture [camera and rolling-eyes emoji] … but not only do they take my picture … they distort my body and mess with the image and it’s embarrassing [grimacing, flushed and upside-down face emojis] !!!!!”

She continued, “I know my body is not perfect but I definitely do NOT look like how they portray me. It’s rude and it’s mean so paps kindly F–K YOU AND F–K OFF [kiss emojis] !!!!”

Trae Younger Harm Replace: Hawks star excluded from sport Four because of deep bruised bones

Trae Young was reportedly banned from Game 4 of the Eastern Conference final against the Bucks, according to a double report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Malika Andrews.

According to their report, Young will miss Tuesday’s game with a deep bruised bone in his right foot and will continue to rehabilitate in hopes of returning for Game 5 on Thursday.

Young left the game towards the end of the third quarter on Sunday, stepping back after losing the ball, kicking a referee on the foot and appearing to twist his ankle. He only missed a few minutes, but admitted that he was “kind of sore” and that his mobility was limited by the injury.

When the game resumed on Sunday, Young only scored a 3-point jumper on 1-of-4 and also made a turnover on the 113-102 loss. He finished the game with 35 points on 12-of-23 shooting (6 of 14 of 3) and four assists.

Atlanta confirmed ESPN’s report and released an injury report prior to the notice. Aside from Young, the Hawks will do without Brandon Goodwin (minor respiratory disease) and De’Andre Hunter (right meniscus surgery). Lou Williams will replace Young.

New photographs and movies present China’s Zhurong Rover in movement

New images from orbit and from the surface of Mars show the Zhurong rover in motion. China’s National Space Administration (CNSA) released new images and videos this week, and NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has tracked the rover’s movements from above.

Meanwhile, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter’s HiRISE (High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment) camera has seen evidence of the rover’s movements from orbit. In this false color image, the landing site remains “clearly colored by the removal of Martian dust during the landing and the movement of the Zhurong rover towards the south can be seen,” wrote the HiRISE team.

HiRISE took pictures a few times (this one on June 11th, the other on June 6th) and with these two pictures the team was able to create a three-dimensional stereo view of the lander. This image should be viewed with red and blue glasses to see the lander and the gently rolling plains in southern Utopia Planitia on Mars.

Walmart introduces cheap analog insulin in response to the rising value of diabetes medicine

Walmart said Tuesday it would offer a cheaper version of insulin that could better fit the budgets of millions of Americans who don’t have health insurance or are struggling to pay for the life-saving diabetes drug.

Starting this week, the retailer will be selling an exclusive private label version of the analog insulin, ReliOn NovoLog, to adults and children who have a prescription. The drug will be available from membership-based Sam’s Club in mid-July. The insulin costs about $ 73 for a vial or about $ 86 for a pack of pre-filled insulin pens.

The insulin is the latest addition to Walmart’s own diabetes product brand ReliOn. It already sells an inexpensive version of insulin for around $ 25 as part of the product line, but that’s an older formulation that some doctors and proponents say isn’t as effective as newer versions of insulin at treating blood sugar fluctuations , which are called analogs.

With the move, Walmart will shift its long-standing “everyday low cost” focus on a drug that is a medical necessity for a growing number of Americans. More than 34 million people in the United States – or nearly 11% of the population – have diabetes, and about 1.5 million Americans are diagnosed each year, according to the American Diabetes Association. As the number of people with diabetes increases, the cost of the 100-year-old drug has skyrocketed rather than decreased and has been scrutinized by lawmakers. The annual cost of insulin for people with type 1 diabetes in the United States has nearly doubled from $ 2,900 in 2012 to $ 5,700 in 2016, according to the latest data from the Health Care Cost Institute. Some of the leading insulin manufacturers, including Sanofi and Eli Lilly, were grilled by politicians during Congressional hearings over price increases for the critical drug. Dr. Cheryl Pegus, executive vice president of health and wellness at Walmart, said the Walmart version of the drug will expand access to health care as it goes below the typical price and makes analog insulin available to more people. Walmart, already the largest employer and grocer in the country, has made a major foray into the healthcare sector to leverage its vast reach for other money-making opportunities. It has opened 20 clinics with budget-friendly medical care, such as $ 30 annual checkups or $ 25 dental cleanings, along with its businesses. It bought a telemedicine company, MeMD, for an undisclosed amount in May to enable virtual care.
